How to Find Part-Time Teaching Positions

Postby Michael » Wed Jun 30, 2010 2:34 pm

Hello!

I was wondering if you had any advice about how to go about securing a part-time teaching position abroad. I'm having trouble finding one.

I've been using TEFL.com, Dave's ESL Cafe, ESL Teacher's Board, Cathayteacher.com, and ESL connections, but everything that comes up seems to be full time.

Any suggestions?

Thank you,

Michael

In order to live and work in China legally, you need to be sponsored by an employer.

The visa process does not contemplate part time employees being issued work visas.

Having said that, many teachers here do work part time in addition to their regular full time jobs. These positions are typically not advertised.

Understand full time teaching employment here in China, in many cases does not exceed twenty hours a week.
